I had hoped to start this blog on a more positive note but I was shocked and horrified to read in today's Boston Globe* that George Bush, Sr. would like to see his second son, Jeb, in the White House. Oy Veh! Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water! Say it can't be so!
Jeb, by the way, former Governor of Florida, is considering a run for the Senate seat vacated by Republican Senator Mel Martinez, of Florida.
On another note, Bush Sr. plans to go sky diving again to mark his 85th birthday in June. "Just because you're an old guy, you don't need to sit around sucking your thumb drooling in the corner," he said. "Old guys can still do stuff..." True...as long as they don't try to do it in the White House!
I expect to see a parody of this soon either on the Daily Show or the Colbert Report.
